The Grand Place

Grand Place, Brussels, Belgium, October 2015.

The building in front is the Town Hall constructed in the XV century. It was constructed gradually. Hence the asymmetry. The oldest part is the longer left wing. The right wing as well as the tower were constructed thirty years later. The whole place is surrounded by very representative buildings financed by craft guilds. The Grand Place is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
