Back in Eternal City

After an eight-year gap since my last visit, I find myself once again in the Eternal City. The journey was quite tiring, as the airport in Warsaw is becoming increasingly crowded. I spent nearly 80 minutes standing in queues. After the flight, there was more waiting for our luggage in Rome, which we didn’t receive until an hour after landing. I only reached Termini (central railway station in Rome) at 9.00 in the evening. Now, I’m relaxing while watching Harry Potter in Italian, though I understand very little.

Tomorrow, I’ll be taking a train further south to Bari situated along the Adriatic coast, so at the other side of the Italy’s mainland. However, on Saturday, I’m returning to Rome for a few days of intensive sightseeing. I plan to revisit the Borghese Gallery and the Vatican Museums.

The fabulous Galeria Borghese on a photo I made there eight years ago. To get there you need to have a reservation. Mine is for the next Sunday.

As for my exact plans, I’m not sure yet. It all depends on the weather, as there are several rainy days in the forecast. One of the significant places I’ve never been inside is the Colosseum. I don’t know how that happened. Rome is a city I visit once every few years, but I’ve never been inside this iconic structure. This time, I have a full four days so I hope that on one day there will be no rain, as Colosseum is open space.
