Back in Rome

The train I was coming back to Rome caught some delay. So, with not much time before sunset, after I got to the appartment I rented here which is only 5 minutes walk from the Termini railway station, I decided to visit one of the Rome’s treasures that is located nearby. It is the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. I managed to make many photos of the interior before the evening mass began, including many close-ups. Seeing the details is one of the advantages when you use a camera and not a smatphone to make photos while travelling. Below one of them. A picture you may find on the apse, just behind the main altar.

A picture, which is actually a XIII century mosaics you may see on the ceiling of the apse in St. Maria Magiorre Basilica in Rome. The mosaics depicts Coronation of the Virgin Mary. The work is attributed to Jacopo Torriti, a medieval Italian painter and mosaic artist.
