As I was walking around the Berliner Dom making photos, some with a high zoom allowing me to see details at close, my impression was like ‘Roman, Imperial, Perfect’. On the photo, yet another masterpiece from Berlin Cathedral – the massive pulpit made of oak.
The pulpit in the Berliner Dom was built in the neo-Baroque style and is adorned with sculptures and decorative elements. The pulpit was destroyed during World War II and was later reconstructed in the 1980s. It was designed by Julius Carl Raschdorff, the architect who oversaw the construction of the cathedral. The sculptural decoration was created by Ludwig Brunow, who also worked on the cathedral’s exterior sculptures.
